You sprained your ankle on a trek in Chiang Mai? You got run over by a scooter while crossing the street in Bali?
You think you are covered but you don’t know who to turn to?
Here are the three key steps you should follow to get treated in the best conditions and get reimbursed for your medical expenses.
I contact my insurer
Whether you have a local, international or a travel insurance coverage, when an accident happens it is not always easy to remember what will be covered by your insurer.
If you can, we advise you to call your insurer before getting your treatment. Thus, you can validate that your coverage will actually support the care you need.
Your insurer will also be able to provide you with the list of its partners establishments. Depending on your coverage, you will not have to advance the fees if you get treated in a partner institution.
If you are a UEX member, the number to dial is available on the back of your insurance card. You can also find it in your personal space on the UEX platform.
I notify my agent
In case of any problem abroad, we advise you to inform your UEX agent so that we help you throughout the process. He/ she will ensure that all the documents have been forwarded to the insurer and will follow up the refund procedure.
In addition, our UEX advisors will be there to reassure you and answer to all your questions.
I get reimbursed
In the same way as for treatments done in Singapore, the request for reimbursement is made online on your insurer’s website.
If your insurer has paid in advance the hospitalization fees on-site, you can go home and rest easy!
